Congratulations on finishing this game. Its just as addicting as Starscape!

It might be a little harder then Starscape 'cause I'm stuck on a room (actually two but I think the second one only leads to a secret or something and isn't important to the main story).

I'm pretty sure getting to the door requires moving the blocks into the coolant. However, no matter what I try, I can't get on top of the two-high block.

This rooms puzzle action is nuts! Its easy enough to get to the first island but I can't seem to stack the blocks high enough to make the jump to the second one.

Any help provided would be greatly appreciated.

Bubblegum Crisis Tokyo 2040 rocks!

Here are a couple hints for you.

Room 1: How high do you really need to climb?
Answer: Spoiler (highlight to read):
If you can't get the half height blocks to go up, why not bring the full height block down?

Room 2: You only need a little extra length to make the jump to the second island.
Answer: Spoiler (highlight to read):
Blocks can be only half on a switch and still hold it down.

That should help you out. The answer doesn't tell you how to do something, but it makes the hint much more obvious. Wink Room 2 there had me going for about 20 minutes the first time I tried it.

Thats the best I have on the first room. Please tell me what to do! I must find the human egineer soon or I'll play until I do without sleeping! Razz

Really though I'm not sure what else to try.

Edit: Never mind about the first room. I can't believe I didn't think of that and how it took me to figure out your hint.

Think of the height in blocks and half-blocks.

The platform, being on the second floor, is 2 blocks high, but you can jump up half a block at a time. So, You need at least 1.5 blocks to make that floor.

You're almost there.

Note: You can make the jump across that water w/o blocks.

No problem. Did you manage to figure out the second room yet? Smile

No, I haven't tried the second room again. I'm off saving Samson at the moment.

Don't feel too bad, it took me forever to figure it out too. I even tried searching the corners to make sure there wasn't a crane I was missing or something.

I don't know why, but my brain just refused to accept that <warning, puzzle answer ahead>
Spoiler (highlight to read):
putting a block on top of half a block got it to the same height as vice versa.

I made it past that room and saved Orgus. It wasn't really all that hard once I had some sleep.

I'm still having trouble with the aforementioned room 2 - I can get to the second sland (though in a different way), but can't get fromt he 2nd island to the exit...

I put the 1/2 block on the bottom right button last, jump onto it, but then can't make the jump to the platform.

It seems like I should instead jump to the north, onto the movign platform, but I can't climb up onto the full height boxes...

I think that is how I did it: you can make that jump.

The moving platform is an easy way back once you've completed the room; you don't need it to solve the room in the first place.

It's possible to beat the water-raising room with all the crates aligned directly on the switches. Each time just save the bottom right-most switch for last, then as soon as you push it on, jump on top of it. It's then possible, once the water has risen, to jump to the next platform over.

Is it actually possible to make it with them right on the switches? I must just have really poor timing. Embarassed

I've beaten that room three times that way (although I haven't done it again since version 1, but I don't think the room was changed from the beta version).

It's easy to misjudge the distance to the platform because you can only see it from a (mostly) fixed camera angle. Once the water level has risen and you're stand on the last block, you only actually need to jump one half-block up and over a gap one block wide. Hmmm. Maybe some ASCII-art will make it clearer:
Code:

         .->
        /   _____
     ___    |_B_|
~~~~[_A_]~~~~~~~~
 _______
|     C |   A - small crate
|       |   B - suspended walkway
|       |   C - switch
|       |   ~ - water level
