  It's not that it's non-standard, it's that it's a joystick with 16 buttons and four axes. The D-pad counts as a quartet of buttons, not as a stick.

  That works for a while, but Danger Nodes tend to not have the amounts of green that the standard node has. For research, you're better off mixing standard node mining with capital ship combat.

  Ions will bounce if you do it right, but it's always a near thing. They also work on the weakpoints of the last boss, if you can get it to work.

  I'd suggest the Blank Label Comics group, but it seems like every third banner ad there is for Starscape at this point.
