Am I he only person who thinks this? Ok, I'll give you the Thundercats, but I can't understand the world's obsession with putting tiger headed men into fantasy games. It's one of the reasons I'll never play Everquest, and I was just watching an trailer for Elder Scrolls: Oblivion, and getting all excited, when a tiger headed man popped his head up and ruined it for me.
When will people learn? Tiger Headed Men should be banned from fantasy games. |

They're in World of Warcraft, and anything that's in WoW is fine with me. |

What, you mean the Kaj'iit or however the heck they were spelled? Yeah, they're pretty weird. It doesn't help much that Oblivion seems to further expand the legacy of bad texturing and general character art from Morrowind. I don't know about Oblivion, but Morrowind has seams all over the place, especially at your fingers, which is sort of a glaring error in first person view with no gloves.
EDIT: About WoW... Well, those look awesome, so that's completely different. They're also simply monsters to be beaten and slaughtered, so it's fine in any case. ^_^
EDIT 2: So, wait... The poll answers we can choose from are No, no, and... no? Biased much? |

Exactly, if they have cats heads why on earth do they have human bodies?
Lizard men though? Hmmm. Is that more acceptable?
p.s. CAR people? That conjures bizarre images |

Personally, I think both the Argonians and the Kah'Jiit looks like ****. It's just poor design all over. I mean, look at their legs! Instead of having proper "humanoid animal" legs like the ones from WoW, they have human legs and then these gigantic feet! What the ruttin' heck is that? |

You know, you've just made it click for me - that's the problem I have. WoW ones look cool, and thundercats rocked, but tiger headed men are just not right.
As for lizard men - anyone read 'The War of Powers' ? The lizard men in that have rather interesting anatomy |

Beyond Good and Evil had loads of animal-people but they were all done cutesy, and that mostly worked.
The Kilrathi in Wing Commander worked too, more or less. But that was about the time Thundercats was on TV, maybe that smoothed things over. |

Yeah, so I've been playing Oblivion a bit, and I'm playing as a Kajit, and the weird thing is that they're now indistinguishable from humans in terms of animation rigging, apart from the added tail. I realise it's most probably to make it less complicated to get to work, but I don't really see the big problem. How many different animation rigs does World of Warcraft have for its players? At least human, gnome, tauren, troll and orc. Night Elves probably have their own rigs as well, as their bodies are slightly differently proportioned from the human bodies. And in any case, they all have their own animations for mostly everything.
So why couldn't the much-touted "best-ever roleplaying game" at LEAST keep those beasts SOMEWHAT beastlike? I liked how Kajits and Argonians couldn't wear any kind of boots in Morrowind, on account of their weird feet. I like how they moved and looked different, even if they did look silly. |

Humans? Yes.
Catpeople? Yes.
Surgically altered Humans and the odd headless cat-person running around? What the hell? |
