It's been a while since I've been excited much about an indie game, but Rage of Magic II is looking particularly cool. Described as a combination of Golden Axe (one of my favourite games ever!) and Street Fighter II (you know it, you love it), they appear to have the looks spot on, and we can only hope the gameplay matches them.

I wonder if the half naked elfchick is the main selling point? |

I'm ashamed to say, it worked on me!
I pity them the emails they will get; at least if the ones we get about JJ are anything to go by. I mean, JJ is wearing a completely unrevealing boiler suit, and yet we get some scary requests about her! My 'favourite' being the guy who told us he convinced his girlfriend she'd look really cool if she dyed her hair pink - his ulterior motive being that he could secretly pretend she was JJ whilst 'in the act'.
I really wish I was making this up... |

Have you played Guardian Heroes for the Sega Saturn? I think you would like it. My favorite Beatem up.

The fact that its an anime style says a lot for it because i really hate anime. |

I think it's fair that I have some fun now and then, after all, I've uninstalled Wolfenstein ET in an effort to get more work done at lunchtime.
I think the worst thing you can do as a game developer is stop playing, or lose interest in games. I've always been surprised how many people in the games industry don't play games.

I was never lucky enough to own a Saturn, but I am aware of just how many great games there were on it that I would love to play. I did borrow a Saturn for a bit though, but never played Guardian Heroes. Treasure never really put a foot wrong do they... |

Excellent! Something that really irks me is that I haven't seen the best of the 80's video games make it home in the sprite version. Remember how totally lame the arcade ports always looked on the NES and Sega? I still haven't even seen MAME versions of some of those old arcade classics. But the point is, they were cool then, why don't we see more games like that now? If you wanted to 3D 'em but retain the same side-scroller feel, go right ahead! Personally, I think it was a stupid idea to take flagship platformers like Mario and Sonic and make them 360 3D. Totally different gameplay, thus totally different game. Doing that would be as lame as taking a Tomb Raider, making it 2D, and saying it's the same game. Nope, totally different!
I'll have to check that one out. Already messing with Tribal Trouble and having too much fun with that. Good recommendation. |

I write for a comic and lyncanthropic characters were introduced as part of one minor, exceedingly not-the-point-of-the-story scene and this one lyncantropophile went nuts. "omg-makethewholethingaboutwerewolvesgleeeee!" A scary thing. |
