i think it would be cool if you could have underwater cities you could only be attacked by subs and you need subs to get planes and tanks up (you could have a cross between boats and subs) |

An idea for making Sea an important aspect of the battle, instead of the usual useless junk: Make a number of the buildings have a water requirement, i.e. you must have you factories and barracks on a river/ocean shore because they need the water for some reason. Or place the resources on the shoreline all the time. This would give the naval units a very specific and very useful purpose, instead of being escorts/guards for/against troop transports. Especialy if they had an exceptional range, so as to make ground units very ineffective against them. |

Noooo! That throws away the primary virute of an aircraft, speed! TA was the only game I ever saw that really got the speed right. The annoying thing is that when you attack the enemy base, your bombers always have to slow to a stop off-screen to then turn around and head back home. That's when they all die.
If you make planes hover units, they're going to be dead hover units. |

I don't know what the tech level will be in this game. If you wanted to get creative, think of air dreadnaughts. Basically the same as your naval ships, but these have hover engines and can float along like the Protoss carriers, except this time to scale.
You could have a lot of fun doing something like that, building up a fleet of these airships and heading out into battle. What sort of units are there to oppose? Hmm, all depends on the tech level of the enemy and the kind of game you're wanting to make in the first place. |

YES! Floatign ships! floatign aircraft carriers seems a coolio idea.
But I still think IMHO that teh air units should be hover units. I mean, if humasn have FTL travel, why not hover-ships? you could have interceptors/gunships/dropships/ect adn then the big o'l flying fortresses.
imagien the look on your opponents face when you cover the sky with them and then quasi-nuke thier base
but if the FF's were so big, then someone coudl launch a balsitic missal and hit them (reasonable accuracy)
So they cant be THAT big-just big enoguth to hold a few fighters/bombers/gunships/dropships adn AA guns, maybe a few crusie missals
say only 50-75 meters long
Thank you for your time

and anywhays helocopters are cooler than A-gravs
also pooh bear has already sead that battlescape V1 will not feture sea units but may introduce them in future versions |
