Wow! If you have a GeForce4/Radeon8000 or better then download the demo for this now. In terms of technology this is the best looking indie title I think i've ever seen. I'm a tiny bit sad it is just a straight forward death match first person shooter, I know LOTS of people love them but i'm a bit tired of them now and prefer more structured team based games like CounterStrike and Wolfenstein. Anyway, you should still try it, it looks gorgeous and plays very smoothly even with low pings. Made by 3 ex-Rare employees, which explains how polished the game is. Modding tools are on the way apparently.
Questions:
1. how did a programmer, artist and a musician do this in just 12months? There's more to that story methinks.
2. why have they not got a publishing deal, there is something wrong with publishers.
3. how badly will it hurt them that only people with fairly good/recent graphics hardware can play.
4. will a 120MB download put customers off?
They deserve to do really well anyway |

Actually, if you look on their site there are some links to interviews they have done and they do talk about hiring contractors, but don't go into any details.
So maybe that explains it |

It looks good, but not pressing on any boundries at all. The level that was demonstrated is quite small and it seemed to lack any real substance.
It was ,however, fun as a simple deathmatch, but a simple deathmatch does not enthrall me. |

It's probably fairly straightforward and boring so they can get some capital off of it.
Their next release will maybe be less graphically intensive and deeper, depending on how much time they can now "afford" to take off. |

I'm not sure if they aren't going to take the 'career game' approach for a while - making continual improvements to the game. I get that impression when reading the forums anyway. |
